Our mission to the community is to commit to sustainable development through engagement in social and environmental causes in promoting Quality of Life as our legacy for future generations. Thus, we partnered with World Wide Fund for Nature- Philippines (WWF-Ph) to officially launch Project Panda.
Last July 4, 2019, a Brown Bag Session was organized at Shakey’s WOW Center. The goal of this event was to orient the employees as well as to raise awareness on the impact of plastic waste to the environment and on what we can do corporately to support the #AyokoNgPlastik campaign started by WWF.
The venue was filled with 70 CSO employees from various departments in support of this movement. The event officially started with Ms. Jean Lapa eliciting from the participants the reason and meaning of this project to their personal and professional lives. She eventually reminded everyone of the Shakey’s mission to the community. This was followed by a presentation from the guest speaker, WWF-Philippines’ Communication Officer, Mr. Angelo Lantin. He shared the WWF’s advocacies specifically on the negative impact of plastic to the planet.
The event was concluded with a presentation from Mr. Chester Briones as he shared the pillars of initiatives which are to Educate, Eliminate and Empower. He also presented the exciting activities for the upcoming months which will only be successful with the support and participation of everyone. As the participants left the session with a heightened sense of awareness, we are positive that these 70 advocates will be fueled with a greater willingness to love the planet like they love our pizza.
