As World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines kicked off its No Plastics In Nature Initiative, the organization recognized Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. as one of the companies that have contributed in reducing the use of plastic in its business operations.
Since committing to the Ayoko ng Plastik movement, Shakey’s has made a measurable impact on the environment through the reduction of 1,791,600 plastic straws and 1,837,700 plastic containers.
Earlier in the event, Shakey’s also participated in the food and beverage sector roundtable, as represented by President and CEO Vic L. Gregorio. The roundtable discussion has brought together industry players as they talked about possible solutions in ensuring the sustainability of their businesses.
Shakey’s will continue to take a stand against plastic pollution, and it will stick to its aim of being plastic-neutral by the year 2020.
